Puri is one of the Main Char Dham of Hindus and a popular honeymoon beach destination. Puri along with Bhubaneshwar (The Capital city of Odisha) along with Konark and Chilika Lake make the perfect triangle for tourist. In one hand the Konark is among the seven wonders of India and known as Black Pagoda its story is ever more fascinating then there is caves dedicated to Jain Monks lies in the Udaigiri and Khandagiri near to Bhubaneshwar. Chilika Lake is one of the largest brackish lake which attracts numerous species of Birds from around the world and is birders paradise

Day 01: Bhubaneswar-Puri (65 kms)

Arrival at Bhubaneswar Airport or nearest Railway station. Meet and assist at the airport & transfer to Puri Beach resort. En route visit to Pipli- a artisan village of applique handbags, lampshades, wall hangings. On arrival check into the hotel. Later proceed to the beach for different beach activites involved. Overnight at resort.

Day 02: Puri-Konark-Puri (One way 35 kms)

After breakfast proceed for excursion tour of Konark. Konark is a small town in the district Puri which is world famous for its Sun Temple. The famous Konark Temple or Sun Temple is built with black granite in the form of Chariot of Surya (Surya-Sun God). Rest of the day free for beach activities. Also visit to Chandrbhaga Beach sometimes well decorated with sand art by famous artist of Odisha. By evening return to the resort at Puri.

Day 03: Puri-Chilika Lake-Puri (One way 55 kms)

After breakfast proceed to Chlika Lake Asia’s largest brackish lake is the home of migratory birds from all across the world. During winter season the Islands which dot all over Chilika Lake are full of migratory birds & other sea animals as well. OTDC has facilities of boating to visit these Islands one can also visit to to Rishikulya Tortoise Islands which is closer to Gopalpur on Sea. While visiting here one can spent one night at Gopalpur on Sea. Return to hotel in Puri for overnight stay.

Day 04: Puri-Bhubaneswar

After breakfast drive to Bhubaneshwar en route visit to Dhauli Peace Pagoda located bank of Daya River & Ashokan Rock Edict which is en route to Dhauli Pagoda. Also visit to Udaigiri and Khandgiri Caves in Bhubaneswar enjoy the second place in Places to visit in Bhubaneswar. The coarse grained sandstone caves Udaigiri and Khandagiri in Bhubaneswar served as the dwelling places of Jain monks. After sightseeing you will be dropped to Bhubaneswar Airport/Railway station for further journey.

IMPORTANT TRIP ADVISORY:

• The standard time in Puri is GMT + 5 ½ Hours
• Govt of Orissa tourist offices are availbale at Railway station, Jagannath Temple, Sea Beach, Bus Stand and also in various tourist destinations.
• The summer is severely hot and humid at Puri. Do carry sunglasses, sunscreen lotion and a hat. Current Weather at Puri
• The winter is not too cold at Puri. Do carry light winter clothes with you.
• You will find beggers in all tourist destinations, it is not mandatory to help them, try to avoid them as far as possible. Do not let them hassle you, and do not encourage them by giving them money.
• Change currency only from official money changers.
• Cyber cafes with Internet facility is available in some places of puri. Ask help for tke local people to find one.
• Always respect religious shrines and places of worship.
• Non Hindus are not allowed to enter into Lord Jagannath Temple. More rules of Jagannath Temple
• In case of any trouble, immediately contact the nearest police station.
• Make sure to remove your footwear when visiting a place of worship. All most all temples in Puri will not even allow you to carry leather articles like wallet, belt etc inside. You can deposit them in the temple shoe stand and collect it on your way out.

• While travelling in/to various tourist places of/around Puri in local buses, trains etc. be aware of pick poketers and snatchers. Though it is not a frequent activity but many cases reported every year. Never leave your luggage, briefcase or other items unattended.
• Don’t keep your wallet in the rear pocket. Keep it in an inside jacket pocket or side trouser pocket.
• All valuables and important papers (jewelry, passports, return tickets, etc) should be kept in your hotel's safe deposit box. Never leave them unattended in your room. Avoid carrying large sums of cash on your person.
• Don’t take the advice of taxi drivers for the purpose of accommodation.
• You should be aware of the local laws and customs prevailing in India. This will help in making your trip hassle free.
• Never ever purchase air/ rail/ bus tickets through strangers or unauthorized travel agents/ tour operators, also known as touts. They are not at all reliable. Buy tickets from the authorized centers only.
