Tawang:

Tawang Monastery  is one of the most important   element in Social and Religious  life of the Monpas.  This Monastery is known as "GALDEN NAMGYEL LHATSE". It is one of the most largest Lamaseries  of Mahayana sect in Asia. Lamseries comprise of several sections ranging near about four hundred years, devoted to Love,   Learning and Purity of life.  There are beautiful lakes around Tawang. One is Pankang Teng Tso (P.T. Tso ) lake. It is a fetching heaven for tourist only 17 KM away from maddening crowd of township. It is a beautiful natural site and provide tourist a lucky chance for deep communion with nature. Other eye catching lakes are Sangetser lake , Banggachang lake.

By Road: it is well connected by Road from Bomdila, Tezpur (Assam) abour  330 kms and or Guwahati (437 kms).

By Rail: Tezpur /Rangapara is the nearest rail head. The major rail connectivitiy is till Guwahati which is connected by major cities of India.

Dirang:

Dirang, situated between Bomdila and Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh is about 42 Kms. from Bomdila. It is at a much lower altitude than Bomdila and thus, the weather is much milder & comfortable, a constant wind blows along the river valley making it a very pleasant place to stay. After having lapped up the nature’s grandeur spread out at Bomdila top, we slowly descended towards the valley below. Dirang is placed at an altitude of 1497 meters/4910 feet, as against Bomdila, which is placed at an altitude of 8500 feet. Munna has a small village which appears to be placed right in middle of the river, Dirang Chu (‘Chu’ means ‘River’ in local dialect) which runs parallel to the main highway all the way upto & beyond Dirang. The other notable feature noticed in this part are the cultivated fields, which unlike the mountains of north India, are not terraced, but placed on the slope, probably due to much more heavy rainfall in this part as compared to north Indian mountains.

Bomdila:

Bomdila is a beautiful small town situated at a height of about 8000 ft. above the sea level from where one can see the brilliant landscape and snow-clad mountains of the Himalayan Range. The Buddhist monastery of Bomdila is the repository of culture and is among primary attractions of the area.

 

Bomdila is the headquarters of West Kameng district located at the height of 8500 ft above the sea level.  It has a lot of attractions for the tourists with its cool climate, Apple orchards, artistic people, snow-capped Himalayan peaks and Buddhist Gompas. The Buddhist monastery of Bomdila is the repository of culture..  This place has a tourist lodge, a craft centre displaying local crafts and a shopping centre where the visitors gets  first feel of the local version of Himalayan Buddhist life.

Namdapha National Park:

A visit to the Namdapha National Park is challenging, covering a wide range of altitudes from 200 mtrs. to 4,500 mtrs. The park largely inaccessible, has diverse habitats and flora and fauna that are typical of this area. The majestic gaur or mithun, elephant, Himalayan black bear, takin, the wild goat peculiar to the Patkoi range, musk deer, slow loris, binturong and the red panda are all found here. The predators include the tiger, leopard, the rare snow leopard and clouded leopard in the higher reaches of the hills. The white winged wood duck a rare and endagered species, has been shelter in the park.

 

 A number if primate species are seen in the park, such as Assamese macaque, pig-tailed macaque and the distinctive hoolock gibbon, Hornbills, jungle fowl and pheasnats flap their noisy way through the jungle, which harbours other colourful bird species. The inacessibility of the greater part of the park has helped to keep the forests in their pristine state.

Day 01: Guwahati-Tezpur

Welcome to Guwahati. Meet and be assisted by our representative at the airport/Railway station. Transfer to Tezpur (185 Km 4 Hrs). check in your hotel. Visit the ruins and remains of Agnigarh where the immortal romance blossomed and stands testimony to the eternal time. Later visit cole park where you can enjoy boating. Overnight stay in Tezpur.

 

Day 02: Tezpur-Dirant

Start early in the morning for Dirang. On the way visit Tippi On the banks of the river Bharali at an elevation of 190 mtrs is Tipi, an orchidarium with over 7500 orchids. On display are some of the finest species with names like the Dainty Lady's Slipper or the more formal sounding Dendrobium. Arunachal has the largest range of orchids in the country. Continue your drive and do not forget to keep your cameras handy as you cross beautiful waterfalls and get some spectacular views. Check in to your hotel. After lunch visit the regional apple Nursery, kiwi farm, dzong (fort), hot water spring. Overnight stay in

 

Day 03: Dirang to Tawang

After breakfast transfer to Tawang. On the way visit war cemetery. Continue with the drive till you reach Sela Pass at an altitude of 4114m / 13494 ft. It is famous for high altitude lakes & scenic beauty & is ideal for ice skating during winter. Check in the hotel on arrival. Overnight stay in Tawang

 

Day 04: Tawang

After breakfast visit Tawang Monstery, Namgye Lhaste, PT Tso, Gorsham Chorten, Gontse Garden, Singar Ani Gompa. Evening return back to hotel. Overnight stay in Tawang.

 

Day 05: Tawang-Bomdila

After Breakfast transfer to Bomdila. Check in the hotel on arrival. After lunch visit Gontse Rabgyaling Monastery (Upper Gonpa), Thub-Chog Gatsel Ling Monastery (Lower Gonpa), Bomdila View Point. Bomdila offers wonderfully panoramic view of Himalayan landscapes and snow clad ranges. Evening you can visit the local market. Overnight stay in Bomdila.

 

Day 06: Bomdila-Tezpur

After Breakfast transfer to Tezpur (155 kms/5 hrs). Upon arrival check in to your hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Tezpur.

 

Day 07: Tezpur-Tinsukia

After an early breakfast leave for Tinsukia. (348 kms 6-7 hours). Upon arrival hotel check in. Overnight at Hotel.

 

Day 08: Tinsukia-Namdapha National Park

After breakfast drive to Namdapha National Park.  Upon arrival check in Lodge or tented accommodation. Evening cultural program along with bon fire. Dinner and overnigh at Lodge/Tented.

 

Day 09: Namdapha National Park

Full day at Park safari by Elephant and by foot. Dinner and overnight at Lodge/tented.

 

Day 10: Namdapha National Park-Dibrugarh

After an early breakfast you will be transferred to Dibrugarh Airport/Railway station to board the flight/train for onward journey.

Entry Procedure:

Arunachal Pradesh being a Protected Area, tourists are required to get an Inner Line Permit( ILP )/ Protected Area Permit. A number of entry formalities have been relaxed for foreign tourists. The permits can be obtained in following ways :-

 

I.   For domestic tourists

 

Innerline Permits are issued by the Secretary (Political),Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar and respective Deputy Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner of the Districts. These can also be obtained from Resident Commissioner's office/ Liaison Offices located at New Delhi, Calcutta, Guwahati, Shillong, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, North Lakhimpur, Jorhat.

 

II.   For foreign tourists

 

The foreign tourists can obtain the Protected Area Permit from all Indian Missions abroad, Home Ministry, Govt. of India and Home Commissioners, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar
