The twin jyotirlinga of Madhya Pradesh are Mahakaleshwar located in Ujjain is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga which is said to be the most revered and sacred of abodes of Lord Shiva. The temple is located on the bank of sacred river Shipra. Omkareshwar Mahadev Temple located in on an Island called Mandhata or Shivpuri in the Narmada River the Island is in the shape of Devanagari . Omkareshwar meaning “ Lord of Omkara” or the Lord of Om Sound.  

Day 01: Arrival Indore by flight/Railway station-Ujjain 55 kms

Upon arrival at Indore pick up and transfer to Ujjain upon arrival hotel check in. Later visit to Kal Bhairav Temple and Iskon Temple and Sandhya Aarti. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 02: Ujjain-Omkareshwar Mahadev Temple (Jyotirlinga) 138 kms

Early morning visit to Mahakaleshwar Temple for Bhasm Aarti (4-6 am). Later after puja and darshan return to the hotel. Check out and drive to Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Temple for darshan. Upon arrival hotel check in. Visit for Sandhya Aarti. Overnight at Omkareshwar.

 

Day 03: Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga-Indore (79 kms)

Morning visit to Omkareshwar darshan & Abhishekam. Check out and transfer to Indore Airport/Railway station for onward journey.

IMPORTANT TRIP ADVISORY:

CUSTOMS TO KEEP IN MIND

-You have to remove your shoes before entering a shrine.

-Drinking alcoholic beverages on the premises or speaking in a raised voice is prohibited.

-Women should always be properly dressed and should cover their head before entering a Sikh gurudwara or a mosque.

-When you enter a mosque, you are supposed to step right foot first into the courtyard.

-In some Hindu and Jain temples all leather products like shoes, belts, handbags, camera cases etc. are prohibited.

-Many temples also expect visitors to purify themselves by washing their hands and feet under a tap or tank available there before entering.

-No visitor in a gurudwara should keep his feet pointing towards the Holy Book or step over any one sitting in prayer or meditation.

-In a Buddhist monastery always remember to follow a clockwise direction while spinning a prayer wheel, going around the interiors and exteriors of the monastery itself, stupa or Mani wall.

 

Please take care of the following:

- Don’t get into the isolated places without proper guide.

- Take cars from Hotel Travel Desk and don’t hire the car without number plate.

- Don’t deal with tout or middle man.

- Don’t write your name or address on the luggage keep them inside the luggage.
