Assam’s capital city, Guwahati - situated on the south bank of river Brahmaputra is home to the world’s largest tea auction centre, and more importantly is the gateway to the whole of the north-eastern region of India. It is also famous for Kamakhya Temple, a centre of Tantricism, which dates back to the Vedic and Puranic times. Srimanta Shankerdev Kalashetra . The Kamakhya Temple dominates the life of Guwahati, as much as does the great Brahmaputra River. The temple, situated over Neelachal Parbat or Kamagiri in the city of Guwahati is one of its several religious landmarks. On the other hand the Shillong known as Scotland of east is one of the few hill station in India you find a vivid heritage and culture. Meghalaya or the “Abode of Clouds”. Meghalaya has historically followed a matrilineal system where the lineage and inheritance are traced through women; the youngest daughter inherits all wealth and she also takes care of her parents. The Meghalaya subtropical forests ecoregion encompasses the state; its mountain forests are distinct from the lowland tropical forests to the north and south.

Day 01: Guwahati

Upon arrival at Guwahati airport or railway station transfer to the Hotel. Check in & proceed for sightseeing of Guwahati visit to Kamakhya Temple. Return to the hotel & overnight.


Day 02: Guwahati-Shillong (100 kms)

After breakfast leave for Shillong en route visit Umium Lake a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvam hills. Check into the hotel. Overnight stay.


Day 03: Shillong (Excursion tour of Cherrapunji)

After early breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.), the wettest place in the world. You will see the beautiful waterfall known as Nohkalikai. You can also explore the caves known as Mawsmai. Evening return to Shillong, enroute visit Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views. Overnight stay at Shillong.


Day 04: Shillong- (Excursion tour of Mawlynnong)

After breakfast take excursion tour of Mawlynnong Village. It is famous for having been dubed as Asia’s cleanest village. Overnight Shillong.


Day 05: Shillong-Guwahati (100 kms)

After breakfast proceed to Guwahati. Upon arrival proceed for sightseeing of Tirupati Balaji Temple, Nabagraha Temple, Assam State Museum and Sukreswar Temple (The 6th Jyotirlinga of Shiva). In the evening optional tour of Golden sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra (Direct Payment by own). Overnight stay at Guwahati.


Day 06: Guwahati (Departure)

After breakfast you will be transferred to Railway station or Airport for further journey.

Meghalaya is an all-year-round tourist destination, where even the monsoon provides the exhilaration and experience of being on the wettest place on the planet.


In summer, ranges from 15°C to 25°C; in winter, it is much colder, with temperature ranging between 4°C and 16°C. The hills are also often covered by fog during this season.
