Traveling Tips for Assam
  • Plan the trip during the winter or autumn season. Summer is very humid and should be usually avoided.
  • The travel tickets, hotels or lodges should be booked and confirmed beforehand, so as to avoid any confusion later.
  • Carry traveler’s cheques, instead of cash. This is a safer option while travelling in crowded areas.
  • Drinks from strangers should be avoided. In fact, if possible, carry your own drinking water.
  • Never forget to lock your luggage and your hotel room door, before going out for shopping or touring.
  • Do not open the door of your hotel room to strangers and enquire properly before letting anyone in.
  • It is advisable not to stay out after dark and especially in areas that are isolated or secluded.
  • Wear proper clothes for the area where you are visiting. It is better to avoid wearing too revealing or skimpy attires.
